How to Sail

The yachts all work on the same principles as a full scale yacht.  The only difference is that instead of using muscle power to trim the sails and steer, two battery powered servos are used instead.  A radio receiver fitted into the hull of the yacht receives signals from an hand held transmitter, operated from the shoreline.  One radio channel is used to instruct a servo that move the rudder and a second radio channel is used to instruct another servo that controls either a lever or a pulley system that pulls in or releases the sails.

Unlike a real yacht it is not possible to alter any of the other sail controls once the yacht is underway.  All you can do is steer and pull the sails in or out.   If you are sailing for relaxation then this is no big deal but if you start racing against another yacht, (which we all will eventually succomb to doing) you will soon see if you have set your yacht up for the optimum.
